I had a paying member on my Patreon page get all moronic on me. So, I decided to start a new series of posts about morons because I seem to have way too many interactions with complete morons. I'm sharing this with you because it's sort of funny but also so you can understand what it's like to be a girl in the adult industry as well as how not to be a moron yourself.
So this guy, let's call him Vic, because, well, that's the name he uses as his profile! Vic is a moron. Not your run of the mill moron, but a colossal moron. Vic joined my Patreon page at the end of March. Literally the end, last day or two of March. If you're not familiar with Patreon at least know that they bill on the 1st of the month, every month you are subscribed. But when you join you're also charged the full fee (based on the subscription tier you choose) at the time you join.
There are valid reasons why they do this but basically it means that if you join on March 30 and pay $10 you'll get billed again on April 1st, just 2 days later. It's $10 and for most people who want the content I provide that's no big deal, most are happy to help support me in that way. And those who aren't can wait 2 days until April 1st to join. No big deal either way, right?
Patreon is very clear about this and even on the checkout page in bold letters they say you will be charged again on the 1st of next month. It's fool proof! As it turns out, though, it's not moron proof. So Vic got billed $10 on April 1st. And he freaked out. Vic, it's $10. Get over it. Now, I understand that $10 is a lot of money to some people, but it's not some huge, insane amount to somebody who subscribes to support people offering nudes on Patreon. If that is a lot of money to you then you don't spend it on fucking nudes!
Vic messaged me and cried about his problems. Even though cheap ass guys are about the biggest turn off on planet earth (frugal is hot, cheap is not) I tried to help. I explained how the site works and that it wasn't my policy and I don't control how billing is done. I told him he could cancel and not be billed again even.
He then started saying he didn't like Patreon because it was slow because "google was slowing down Patreon" ...ugh. I have a technical background and explained that Google doesn't control the Internet speed like (and note he is NOT on Google Fiber where they, as the ISP, could slow it down...note that even then they don't). I explained that the issue was either problems with Patreon servers, something with his ISP, or just slower because a lot on the Internet is slow thanks to everyone being stuck home, streaming the crap out of everything, video calling, and so on. I then got a popup saying Patreon was having some tech issues so I messaged Vic again to let him know. Again, trying the help the poor moron out, that's all!
His reply, and I quote was for me to...
...ugh. Dude, I get it. Heaven forbid a girl school you in the ways of the Internet and technology but I wasn't just trying to help explain shit to you. No need to be a condescending dick about it. I told him he could now either cancel and move on or apologize and stay subscribed.
But then I realize, oh wait, I control this shit and I don't need to be talked to like that by some asshole. Needless to say, Vic has been banned from my Patreon and YouTube pages :) I even refunded his $10 because I couldn't care less about $10 either way.
The take away from this story? Don't be a moron. Don't be an asshole. Don't be a Vic.
