Stefano and I have been making amateur porn for three full months now and since my first Porn Report (see Porn Report: Two Months In Balls Deep) did so well I think I'll do these regularly. The idea here is to do a "tell all" style article on how things are going in our neck of the amateur pornography woods (which contain lots of hardwood, haha).
Our first month, which was March of 2019, wasn't really much to talk about. We were just setting up and started uploading then. We had around 10 videos. They weren't great because we were new and didn't know much about lighting, how to shoot, angles, or how to edit very well. So we accumulated $1.29. We're only on Pornhub for now so all of this is just Pornhub money and with Pornhub you don't get paid until you reach $100 or more owed to you.
Our first "real" month was April of 2019 where we made just under $40. The bulk of that is from offering free videos and making ad revenue. A small portion was from a couple of video purchases as well as premium videos (premium subscribers see them and you make much more per viewing with those but get far fewer views).
May of 2019 was our biggest and best month and is ending right now. We made almost $100 this month! This is nothing compared to what we've invested into making quality, amateur porn though. Nor will $100 USD pay the bills. Over all three months we're looking at around $140 which means we're over the $100 minimum to be paid and should get paid. Only, Pornhub pays at the end of the next month for the previous month so we won't see that $140 until the end of June. But that's okay.
If you want to make money, don't focus on the actual money but instead focus on the views. Videos views are the key to making money. So worry about views and, more importantly, view growth over time.
In our case, it took us over 2.5 months to get 100,000 video views total on Pornhub. As we approached 10,000 we were amazed we got that many. That amazement quickly faded as 100k became the new target. It felt like it took a while and then all of a sudden some videos took off with some "mini viral" action, as we call it, and we hit 100k. We even did a video just for the event, watch it here.
Now here was the amazing part, going from 100k to 200k views took only 11 days. Around 15% of the time as our first 100k. Certainly part of this is because our quality got better. We also believe that part is due to the fact that our catalog of videos grew. More videos equals more potential views. We also got more subscribers and that means more "fans" are likely to see our new stuff as it gets released. A following was being built. But beyond that it's hard to know why because Pornhub doesn't share much in the way of details and stats with us. In fact, we now log our own stats daily. It's a pain but at least gives us a better idea of our stats as we keep on fuckin'.
As I write this we're at 216k which means our 250k milestone is quickly approaching. After that we'll look forward to 500k and 1 Million views which will be amazing for us. Some days are crazy and we see 20k views (a month ago a day with 1k views was good and normal). So focus on views. Make great content and just worry about views, not dollars.
We're narrowing down the next site we'll try this week and should get uploading on one or two very soon. But most of those will be pay to download sites rather than free streaming sites. Will they bring any revenue to us? I don't know. I don't feel very hopeful on most but we'll see. It's hard to compete with the Pornhub giant so I wonder if these other sites really have the traffic required for us to succeed.
Another thing we're trying is an Amazon Wishlist. If you'd like to support us you can buy anything on our wishlist. It's all sex stuff of course and all will be used in future videos. Will this work? I really don't know. Didn't think it would but a fan contacted us and wanted to buy me something so we made one and supposeduly they bought it. Time will tell if it arrives. But this could be another revenue stream, or at least save on costs we'd otherwise incur.
We're also considering selling some items, though this is something for the future. We've had fans ask to buy used panties and other items. Seems odd to me but we don't judge. You want some cum soaked panties? I'd be happy to sell them to you. We just have some logistics to work out there.
We're also building up our Twitter following to give us another way to connect to fans and hopefully be able to use it as a marketing tool down the road. Will we be able to monetize that as well? Maybe, but we're more into just connecting with fans than anything else when it comes to social media.
This is one reason getting another girl (or girls) into our mix would be good for us and our porn empire in the making. Besides, threesomes would be super fun for me too! Finding a girl is tough and we've had several offers now. We just need the right girl, not just any girl. Is that you? Email me and let me know, and send a photo of yourself even if you want to put a mask on for privacy. As always, no dudes. Only ladies are allowed in our threesomes!
You're Rich Now, Right?
Everyone wants to know about the money so let's just talk about the money. After three months we've made a whopping total of $0 USD! Woohoo! Well, that's not completely true. We haven't received any actual money yet but we are owed money so let's break it down. Our first month, which was March of 2019, wasn't really much to talk about. We were just setting up and started uploading then. We had around 10 videos. It's Not About Money (Yet). It's About Growth!
First off, it's really about the porn and the love of sex between Stefano and myself. That's why we're in this. But we also want to make some money because we love the challenge of that. And it would be nice to have some income to pay for the equipment we've bought. GoPro and Sony cameras aren't cheap. Lighting adds up. And then there are the outfits and toys, of which I have many! And we seems to go through coconut oil (our go-to lube) like it's going out of style. But sometimes you have to spend money to make money. If you want to make money, don't focus on the actual money but instead focus on the views. Videos views are the key to making money. Other Revenue Streams
As I've already said, we're only on Pornhub right now. But we plan to try other sites soon. We're researching some options and as we try some out we'll post our experiences here in hopes that it helps others make informed decisions. We're narrowing down the next site we'll try this week and should get uploading on one or two very soon. Is Making Porn Still Fun?
Yes! Most of the time. There is burn out occasionally. Sometimes we just need a break from fucking. Or, I should say that I do. Stefano could fuck 10 times a day and still be happy with more sex. He's a machine. That's how we ended up with over 60 videos online in 3 months. Plus some still in the editing phase and none of that counts the times we fuck without cameras! We have a LOT of sex here! This is one reason getting another girl (or girls) into our mix would be good for us and our porn empire in the making. Besides, threesomes would be super fun for me too!
